Thunder, Rain, and one other person hold their instruments.
Thunder and Rain is a newgrass band delivering melodic hooks, rich harmonies, and grassy drive with pop-rock inspired songcraft.
Thunder plays bass. I think that’s Erinn Peet Lukes.
The band was founded by Erinn Peet Lukes in Colorado in 2013. Following a pandemic-era hiatus, Lukes relocated to Nashville, where she met Amelia Ransom (fiddle) and Laura Ray (banjo). They play with a rotating cast of bass players including Amanda Accardi, currently borrowed from her bluegrass jam band Low Ground.
Thunder and Rain play, this time with two additional weather phenomena. Lightning, maybe. And Wind, probably.
“There are pop elements to Thunder and Rain songs that make them appealing to both old-school bluegrass shitkickers and people who just love great melodies.”
— Denver Westword
Thunder and Rain released their fourth album, Storybook Sessions, in October 2024.
